This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the rights you have with respect to your data.We are committed to protecting your privacy. Rental Note is designed as a fully offline, on-device application. All data you enter — including property details, tenant information, financial records, and tax reports — is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.---## 1. - Location data or GPS coordinates
- Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar)
- Camera, microphone, or photo library access

- Health or financial account data from external sources
- Cookies or web tracking data---## 2. How Your Information Is UsedBecause all data remains on your device, your information is used solely to provide the features of the App to you locally. Specifically:- Property and tenant records are displayed within the App to help you manage your rental portfolio.
- Financial transaction data is used to generate income summaries, expense breakdowns, profit and loss reports, and CSV exports.
- Tax information is used to generate an IRS Form 1040 Schedule E PDF entirely on your device, using a PDF template bundled with the App. No data is sent to any server during this process.We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the direct operation of the App's features.---## 3. Data Storage and SecurityAll data entered into Rental Note is stored locally on your iOS device using AsyncStorage, a secure key-value storage system provided by the React Native framework. The data is subject to the same device-level security protections as all other app data on iOS, including encryption at rest when the device is locked (provided you have a passcode enabled).We have no access to your data. Because data never leaves your device, we cannot view, access, retrieve, or recover it under any circumstances.You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your device and for creating backups of your data. The App provides a built-in data export feature (CSV and PDF) that you can use to create your own backups.---## 4. Data Sharing and DisclosureRental Note does not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with any third party. We do not have access to your data, and therefore cannot disclose it.The only scenario in which your data leaves your device is when you explicitly choose to share it using the iOS native share sheet — for example, when exporting a CSV report or a Schedule E PDF. In that case, the data is shared with whichever app or service you select (such as Mail, Files, or AirDrop), and is governed by that service's own privacy policy.---## 5. Third-Party ServicesRental Note does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs that collect personal data. The App does not contain advertising networks, social media plugins, or tracking pixels.The App is built using standard open-source libraries (React Native, Expo, pdf-lib) that operate entirely on-device and do not transmit data externally.---## 6. Children's PrivacyRental Note is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is intended for adult property owners and landlords. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the address below so we can address the situation promptly.---## 7. Your Rights and ChoicesBecause all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over it at all times.Access and correction. You can view and edit all information you have entered directly within the App at any time.Deletion. You can delete individual records (properties, tenants, transactions) within the App. To delete all data, you can uninstall the App from your device, which will permanently remove all locally stored data.Export. You can export your data at any time using the App's built-in export features (CSV reports and PDF generation).No account to manage. Because Rental Note has no user account system, there is no account to deactivate, no password to reset, and no profile to delete.---## 8. Data RetentionYour data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. We do not retain any copies of your data on our servers because we never receive it. When you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.---## 9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may provide you with additional rights regarding your personal information. However, because Rental Note does not collect, sell, or share any personal information with third parties, the CCPA's sale opt-out and data access request provisions are not applicable in practice. We do not sell personal information and have never done so.---## 10. European Users (GDPR)If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may apply to your use of the App. Because Rental Note processes all data locally on your device and does not transmit personal data to any server or third party, the App operates as a purely local data processor. The legal basis for any local processing is your explicit consent, expressed by your voluntary use of the App and entry of data into it.You have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data at any time, all of which you can exercise directly within the App or by uninstalling it.---## 11. Changes to This Privacy PolicyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable law.
